The New Age Is Here

It is really amazing how over the course of only a few decades how the world has changed. One of the things that stick out in my mind as a kid growing up in a small town in eastern Canada is how far we have come in such a short time. I lived in a house that didnt have any indoor plumbing we had one TV and we had just gotten that and there was only 3 channels on it anyway. That was it for electronic devices along with your good ole AM radio. These items were not much for real entertainment that I have grown accustom to over the years.

The biggest impact on the world today as we know it has to be the PC (Personal Computer). It was introduced to the world 25 years ago and has for ever changed how we communicate, get news and do business. I dont know if they really knew the impact that it would have on our lives, but could you ever imagine getting anything done today without one. Computers have become the ultimate tool for the whole family to use and enjoy weather it is for work, school or just entertainment.

With most advances in technology comes risk with the use of these advances. The PC is no different. With the introduction of the internet and computers becoming more and more accessible for people to own, came the exploits to damage these personal computers. Computers are being used for many things from storing personal data and conduct financial transactions online. The risks have grown even more when using the internet to do these things.

Internet exploits and crime has become a billion dollar industry for internet criminals. There are still people who are either not using the proper internet security products or none at all to protect themselves and families online. Not taking the proper action to make sure your computer, children and identity is safe when using the internet is just not smart today. Dont become a statistic just another person who has become a victim of internet crime. With the price of software these days it just doesnt make sense not be protecting you and love ones from the threats and exploits that are present all over the internet these days. They say that an unprotected computer on the internet will last only about 20 min before if will become compromised by some sort of maleware or exploit on the internet.

How many stories have we heard about children getting exploited or becoming subjected to some kind of inappropriate material? The internet is a great tool for kids to use for research for school; its like having a library right in your home. Not taking the proper steps to make sure your kids are protected while on the internet falls all on the parents. If you want to control your kids access to the internet and what the can view you have to have some kind of parental control installed on your computer.

I know most parents think my child would never do anything like that or they know what they are allowed to do on the computer. Well if you believe that that is just hogwash.

I will tell you a little story about a phone call I received from a shaking mother of a friend of my daughters. My daughter is 13 by the way, well I get a call from the mother of her friend and she tells me what the girls were doing when they were over her house on the computer. These are three young teenage girls chatting on msn using bad language and viewing material that they shouldnt be viewing. Needless to say I had a long talk with my daughter about this stuff and what is appropriate to be doing while on the computer especially in someone elses house. I didnt ground her because you know how kids can be especially when they get into a group there is that thing called peer pressure.

The problem I think is with the parents, you would like to trust your kids and believe that they wouldnt do anything like that but they are kids and will explore the unknown. If the parents had some kind of parental control on their computer in the first place none of it would have happened. My daughter has a computer and it has parental control on it not because I dont trust her but because I have to protect her from the unknown.

With computers you cant wait until you have a virus that has to be fixed or your identity and personal information has been stolen or your kids get themselves in trouble that is going to bring harm to them. You have to protect your computer and your family before any of this can happen by getting yourself some internet security and information on how to protect yourself while on the net.

Why will the banks settle for pennies on the dollar?

I assume the reason why youre reading this is that you may feel your financial situation is declining rapidly. If Im wrong and youre doing great financially, making good money, paying off the bills every month and have money left over to do whatever you want, then this article is not for you. But, if you are feeling sick and I mean sick and tired of your financial situation then read on.

When I said declining rapidly, I mean its as if you feel youre being eaten alive by that invisible monster. The one that has sharp teeth and eyes that glow in the dark of the night keeping you awake; it makes your heart pound while you lay in bed worrying about how you are going to pay all your bills by the end of the month. Hopelessly praying that by next month it will somehow get better.

This same monster makes your heart jump, your palms sweat and your voice crack when the phone rings. Who is the monster you might ask? Thats right its the Bill Collector! Just like the devil, it goes by many names. The list is too long to mention here. Youre not stupid I know that you can name them. But like the devil this monster has one common name: The Bank! Yes for some it may be medical bills or old utilities, but for most of us the root of your problems stem from The Bank.

Easy credit, predatory lending and deceptive advertising are how they do it. They know that 90% of Americans dont have a clue how money really works and they want to keep it that way. If they required a test or a class on what can and does happen when you get that personal loan or credit card from them on their terms chances are you never would have accepted it.

The banks wont admit it to you but they think youre stupid when it comes to money! Theyre counting on it! Especially if you run into a problem and start paying them late or less than what they want each month. Thats when their profits really start to kick in. Why else would you put a yoke around your own neck so that you can be controlled by them for the rest of your life? For millions of us this is just what happens once you get a credit card. The light that you see at the end of your tunnel is the train thats going to hit you! It doesnt have to be this way there is hope!

Dont feel embarrassed. Youre not the only one out there in trouble. In fact, millions of Americans every year come to this same conclusion at some time in their life. Its unbelievable when you look over your shoulder, see that HUGE mountain of debt, and end up wondering, How did I get here?

Its the result of greed from the Banks. You may think that the oil companies 11 % profits in the 2nd Qtr 2006 were outrageous; but look at this recent headline, CREDIT CARD COMPANIES SCORE HIGHEST PROFITS IN 15 YEARS. MBNA in the 4th Qtr of 2003 made 30% profits! Thats right 30% and they break their own records year after year. You might ask how they do it. Fear! When most people get in financial trouble they just allow the Banks to control them with intimidation and fear tactics! They know that 90% of credit consumers will just roll over and play dead. Thats because they dont know their rights or options.

The other 10% become educated and take a stand. They refuse to just go along with the crowd and suffer day after day just to please the Banks bottom line. They study their rights under the law; FDCPA is just one resource. They also discover what to say and not to say when talking to a collector. But for most of us time is an issue and having the time and knowledge to learn what you need to know to negotiate is next to impossible for most. I do think you should take some time to at least know your rights but to negotiate is something that should be left to a professional.

The reason the Banks will take less than half of what they claim you owe is because you are in the 10% crowd and they are prepared for it. Its just part of business, its no big deal when they can go after the other 90% and make a big profit. So I recommend that you contact and use a debt settlement professional, preferably a lawyer. An experienced lawyer can prevent the hassles because the collectors need to deal with them once they are informed that you are being represented. Americans are suing collectors everyday for not following the law. The law is on your side. If your situation looks like it will never turn around then its now time to contact a debt settlement lawyer.

Legal Implications of Remote Controlled Golf Trolleys In Europe

Golf is no longer a game of just trying to hit the ball in the right place. It requires a great deal of concentration, calculation and thinking. There are plenty of decisions to be made and accuracy to be mastered in order to excel in the game of golf. To help a golfer stay focused on the game and eliminate other hazards like injury and fatigue, remote controlled golf trolleys have emerged.

Remote controlled golf trolleys are assistive golf equipment that reduces much of the stress by carrying the heavy golf bag, which often weighs thirty to forty pounds and other accessories around the course at the push of a button and at the convenience of the golfers. As the game of golf calls for more strenuous efforts from its players, these remote controlled golf trolleys have become a real necessity for serious golfers around the world. However, not all remote controlled golf trolleys are legal. So it is always better to check before purchasing one, especially if you are in the European Union.

Many remote controlled golf trolleys are being imported into the European Union as their demand increases. However, not all these trolleys abide by European standards. Hence they are illegal. In order to be legally marketed within the EC, the products need to pass the R&TTE test. This test is to ensure that the transmitter of remote controlled golf trolleys abide by the strict guidelines and maintain European standards. It ensures that the transmitter is within safety limits and would not interfere with other devices in the area. OFCOM, the regulatory body for communication devices in United Kingdom has banned several products for failing the test.

The products also need to pass an EMC test in order to be legally marketed in the European Union. This test checks the other mechanical parts of remote controlled golf trolleys like the motor, power source, electrical equipment, etc. This test ensures that the products are safe, without any electrical noise or chance of interference with other devices in the area.

Moreover, it is required that the European Union retailer or wholesaler properly labels the transmitter and the trolleys, and to ensure in the packaging that the products are certified for use in the market.

In order to market remote controlled electric golf trolleys legally in the European Union, it is essential for the products to pass the R&TTE and EMC tests. Any other product will be marked unsafe and can be banned from use. It is always better to check if the products are provided with the Declaration of Conformity, a document that provides the details of where the product was tested, thereby making it traceable. A mere CE certificate from a foreign test house does not prove the product to be legal in the European markets. Always check for the legal documents while purchasing remote controlled golf trolleys in Europe.

So Many Affiliate Programs! Which One Do I Choose?

You need to ask questions first before you join an affiliate program. Do a little research about the choices of program that you intend to join into. Get some answers because they will be the deciding point of what you will be achieving later on.

Will it cost you anything to join? Most affiliate programs being offered today are absolutely free of charge. So why settle for those that charge you some dollars before joining.

When do they issue the commission checks? Every program is different. Some issue their checks once a month, every quarter, etc. Select the one that is suited to your payment time choice. Many affiliate programs are setting a minimum earned commission amount that an affiliate must meet or exceed in order for their checks to be issued.

What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the average number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This factor is extremely important because this will tell you how much traffic you must generate before you can earn a commission from the sale.

How are referrals from an affiliates site tracked and for how long do they remain in the system? You need to be confident on the program enough to track those people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you can credit for a sale. The period of time that those people stay in the system is also important. This is because some visitors do not buy initially but may want to return later to make the purchase. Know if you will still get credit for the sale if it is done some months from a certain day.

What are the kinds of affiliate stats available? Your choice of affiliate program should be capable of offering detailed stats. They should be available online anytime you decide to check them out. Constantly checking your individual stats is important to know how many impressions, hits and sales are already generated from your site. Impressions are the number of times the banner or text link was viewed by a visitor of your site. A hit is the one clicking on the banner or text links.

Does the affiliate program also pay for the hits and impressions besides the commissions on sales? It is important that impressions and hits are also paid, as this will add to the earnings you get from the sales commission. This is especially important if the program you are in offers low sales to be able to hit ratio.

Who is the online retailer? Find out whom you are doing business with to know if it is really a solid company. Know the products they are selling and the average amount they are achieving. The more you know about the retailer offering you the affiliate program, the easier it will be for you to know if that program is really for you and your site.

Is the affiliate a one tier or two tier program? A single tier program pays you only for the business you yourself have generated. A two tier program pays you for the business, plus it also pays you a commission on the on the sales generated by any affiliate you sponsor in your program. Some two-tier programs are even paying small fees on each new affiliate you sponsor. More like a recruitment fee.

Lastly, what is the amount of commission paid? 5% - 20% is the commission paid by most programs. .01% - .05% is the amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays for impressions, the amount paid is not much at all. As you can see from the figures, you will now understand why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is important.

These are just some of the questions that needed answering first before you enter into an affiliate program. You should be familiar with the many important aspects that your chosen program should have before incorporating them into your website. Try to ask your affiliate program choices these questions. These can help you select the right program for you site from among the many available.

If you would like to see some of the Affiliate Programs that answer the above Questions go to http://www.myfreesurveys.com/kiwilite/home.htm and have a look.

Is Growing Saint George, Utah The New Palm Springs?

Saint George, Utah is a short ride up Interstate 15 from Las Vegas, NV. It is a wonderful base of operations for your Adventure into the American Southwest! It is one of the fastest growing communities in the United States. Its been called the new Palm Springs!

Just under two hours drive from Las Vegas, Nevada is another fast growing community. Saint George has an elevation of 2,880 feet above sea level. St. George has an average annual temperature of 59.9 F with summer temperatures well into the 100s. Palm trees and red rock cliffs are the norm in Saint George along with all the convenience of a city of 100 thousand.

Saint George is home to Red Cliffs Desert Preserve a 62,000-acre scenic wildlife reserve set aside to protect the desert tortoise and other rare and sensitive plants and animals Here is where three great ecosystems merge, the Mojave Desert, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau, Red Cliffs Reserve is biologically rich with an array of animals and plants rarely seen in one place. It contains the most northern populations of the desert tortoise, Gila monster, sidewinder rattlesnake, and chuckwalla - reptiles typically associated with hotter and more southerly deserts, like the Mojave.

Saint George is very close to Zion National Park. Biking at Gooseberry Mesa, ATVs at Coral Pink Sand Dunes are close too, with Dixie National Forest, Snow Canyon, and Joshua tree forest, all in the area. Southern Utah and all it has to offer can be reached from here. If you love golf, youll find it here as well as shopping!

Saint George, Utah is located in Washington County. There is lots of controversy about the proposed public lands legislation in the United States Senate. The bill titled S.3636 considers a land swap of up to 24,000 acres. This wilderness area is part of the zionmojave outdoors.

This draft bill would designate more than 219,000 acres as wilderness, preserve utility corridors, create an off-road trail system, develop a new conservation area, protect 170 miles of the Virgin River, and sell to the highest bidder up to 25,000 acres of public land at fair market value. As with any change, many people are concerned about the wording of the bill and the future rights for people to use the outdoor lands that they have had access to for years. Saint George has been growing, fast for the past few years and there is a concern about the developers who would buy the land up for bid. Controlling urban sprawl in this area is a concern to many. So much of Southern Utah is an adventure outdoor wilderness area, not many people want to see changes take place that would restrict their access.

The bill also creates utility corridors and Southern Utah is awaiting the Lake Powell Pipeline. The pipeline legislation was signed into law in May of 2006. In order to meet the water demands of an ever-growing population in Southern Utah, Washington, Kane and Iron counties are pursuing a pipeline that would run from Lake Powell to Sand Hollow Reservoir. These 158 miles of pipeline would bring 70,000 acre feet of water to Washington County, 10,000 acre feet to Kane County and 20,000 acre feet to Iron County. The pipeline would most likely cost $494 million or more in current dollars.

The Lake Powell Pipeline would allow Utah to tap into its unused portion of the Upper Colorado River water, which was defined in the 1922 Colorado River Compact. The Compact divides the river basin into two areas: the Upper Colorado (comprising Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming) and the Lower Basin (comprising Nevada, Arizona and California). Currently Utah is using 74 percent of its annual allocation of 1,369,000 acre feet.

Theres a lot going on here, and youll enjoy your Saint George tours.

The Perfect Home Recording Studio

Home computer music recording has become extremely popular, both as a hobby and as a legitimate means of live recording and mixing. For the serious musician or recording technician, the computer/software combination offers ease of use and lower cost, and it requires less space than traditional methods of recording.

Recording can be accomplished by using a "mixing board" to pre-mix multiple signals with their corresponding analog effects (if desired) before sending them to the computer, or each "plain" signal can be recorded independently to its own track through a computer audio interface, software effects applied, and the individual tracks then mixed together.

Using a mixer and analog effects, one could conceivably record without the benefit of multiple tracks, resulting in the need for less expensive, more simplistic software. For much greater control and a more polished sound, a quality multitrack software with effects is preferred.

Although more difficult to learn and use, multitrack software provides many more options for the user. The cost for quality multitrack recording software can range from $40 to several hundred dollars. Don't let the low prices fool you though, many a great recording has been made with shareware recording software.

If you aren't experienced in multitrack recording, purchasing at the low end of the spectrum makes sense. It's best to choose a product that will accept plug-ins, though. Plug-ins are small pieces of software that provide various functions (typically effects) that can be installed into the multitrack software, providing greater flexibility to the sound engineer. Several companies produce audio software plug-ins of the vst or directx variety that will work with even low cost software. A number of the plug-ins are actually offered free of charge.

For the more serious enthusiast, the computer (pc) should contain at least a Pentium 4 or Athlon 64 processor, 200gb, 7200 rpm IDE or Serial ATA hard drive, 1 gigabyte of dram, a good video card, and a high quality sound card. Any on-board video should be disabled in the cmos setup and a quality graphics card with at least 64mb ram installed.

A flat panel monitor with a 19" screen is preferred over a crt. With the large viewing area, the video resolution can be set at 1280 x 1024, enabling more of the audio recording software to be viewed on the screen at one time.

On-board audio (if available) should also be disabled and a high quality sound card installed into the computer. Also, invest in a pair of quality, amplified, near-field monitors. These speakers are designed specifically for music recording. Remember, if you're serious about your recordings, you'll want the music to be reproduced as realistically as possible.

A computer audio interface of some sort is a real necessity. It should have 1/4" inputs for instruments such as electric guitars or keyboards, as well as XLR inputs for microphones. 48v phantom power should be avaiable for condensor mics, as well. A mixer could even be plugged into the audio interface if more flexibility is needed.

More and more, musicians are realizing the high quality and low costs associated with producing their own recordings, while those interested in the technical side of recording can see the increased benefits of digital recording, mixing and mastering.

Steve Leedy is a local government computer IT and webmaster with a keen interest in home music recording. His website, http://www.pcmusicstuff.com/ contains a variety of software and information for anyone interested in learning digital audio recording.Chastity Blog3102

The Leo Wanta story draws the line between the good and the bad, the rich and the poor, drawing the proverbial line in the sand between the forthright adventurers searching for the truth and those underground rascals of Satan who just can't stand a good story when they read one.

And Leo's story has it all from CIA shenanigans, Daddy Bush stealing $1 billion into a Panama account under Pilgrim Investments, Marc Rich escaping justice with the help of Wiley Coyote 'Billy Boy' Clinton, Vince Foster getting murdered in a Washington D.C park after delivering $250 million to First Witch Hillary, Yitzhak Rabin trying to rescue Leo from a Swiss dungeon and being assassinated in 1995 and much, much, much, much more where greed fighting good is exposed every day, every hour, every minute of every blasted second until either hell really and truly freezes over or America and its beauty returns to a semblance of normality where people can go to a ball game not worrying whether the world is going to blow up or not.

Leo's story provides a colorful tapestry, a delightful American tale where all the cards get laid out on the table. Good cards, bad cards and all the bloody cards, even the one where Leo's partner in business died mysteriously 10 days after getting into a verbal scuffle over money in a Singapore Hotel with none other then Daddy Bush.

In fact, Leo's story is not only Daddy Bush's worst nightmare but a typical Las Vegas casino owner's nightmare since it's a story where the people actually win the money and the corrupt owners go home without even a pair of boxer shorts and a shirt on their back.

It's simply a story where everybody has to stop, take a deep breadth and thank the good Lord above that there still exists a person like Leo, a honorable man in this crazy world who is still willing to fight the pocketbook of corruption instead of being just another dollar bill locked up in Bush's wallet having to smell his dirty farts every single night.

And with that thought, let's be glad we can still throw slings and arrows at our leaders without being thrown in jail because the intent and purpose of all the underhanded financial dealings Leo uncovered was to keep his fellow Americans from the globalist chains that are beginning to surround the beautiful American pastures where those who draw their milk from the udders of truth want to live in peace.

But in an effort to unravel the importance of the $4.5 trillion pre-Christmas package about to be opened by the American people, of course, with the caveat of "God willing and the crick don't rise" let's view the essentials to be understood in the Wanta story:

Repatriated Wanta Trillions

As we speak, $4.5 trillion sits in a Bank of America account in Richmond, Va. according to credible financial sources close to the World Court, including Michael C. Cottrell, treasurer of Wanta's AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc.

June 30, 2006, Letter to President George W. Bush (full documentation at Arctic Beacon)

The letter confirming, as reported by the prestigious International Currency Review "in writing that 'the U.S. Department of the Treasury, with the full working knowledge of the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Dr Ben Bernanke et al [had] completed the necessary internal joint/compliance documentation, to release the $4.5 trillion directly to AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. [ATG]' to enable ATG 'to meet our corporate commitments in a timely manner'.

"The letter confirmed at the same time that despite the fact that the formal official paperwork had long been completed, the corporate Settlement funds had not been released. None of the parties concerned has ever disputed any of the documented facts of this matter, or the validity of the high-level signatures appended to the relevant documentation. Moreover the $4.5 trillion was clearly earmarked for the benefit of Leo Wanta/ AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. at all stages of the process."

The Intent of the Leo Wanta Settlement

For the direct benefit of the American people in the following manner:

Agreed by all parties negotiated on behalf of two federal court judges, Mr. Wanta and two rather obese and fatty law firms from NewYork and Georgia to the private settlement to prepay corporate taxes at 35% of $4.5 trillion, netting the US Treasury clean funds worth $1,575,000,000,000, and to prepay corporate taxes to the State of Virginia at the rate of 6% on the $4.5 trillion, equating to $270 billion, followed by regular corporate tax payments direct to the U.S. Treasury estimated by Leo Wanta at $96 billion per banking day, once start-up operations have been executed. Secondary trading operations with U.S. counterparties would be likely to raise the total new inflow to the Treasury to $200 billion per banking day.

The status as of today Re: Leo Wanta settlement:

Leo is moving forward to secure the funds despite 'Baby Bush' ordering the Fed, both failing to meet a July 31 deadline imposed by Leo after more than a 45 day delay when Bush evidently started scratching the underside of his Texas hot a** levis wondering what to do.

The veracity of Leo Wanta

The real truth behind Wanta is the documentation of accounts and bank corruption which pins the tail on the donkey to high level officials and word wide bankers, all part and parcel to ripping off the American people. Here is just a smattering of more than $2 trillion ripped off by Illuminati banksters and American politicians, including Daddy Bush and Clinton.

The following is summary of receipts identified in handwritten analytical notes performed by the distinguished US Secret Service Treasury agent, Leo Wanta, on some of the transactions involved in the giga-financing operation involving a colossal loan to the Illuminati from 200+ international banks of $27,5 trillion, to finance the ''Global Security Environment'', a.k.a. the New Underworld Order, which is to be enforced by the United States as the sole enforcement, a.k.a. for the project. Sufficient funds were raised to bribe every policymaker, intelligence officer, ruler, Prime Minister, President and senior official for the whole of the 21st century. This fund is now worth $60-$70 trillion at a minimum -- and with collateral leverage, probably far more.

Future of Wanta story

Leo is moving forward to secure funds needed for the betterment of the American people despite odds an old-time horse player put two weeks ago at 35-1 but now have dramatically dropped to 8-5 in worldwide financial circles, who never really thought the old Wanta horse could run.

Also, when the money is released, which we are confident it will be, we can all have a beer together and say a prayer that things continue to improve in the future.

The Future Of Bluetooth - What is the Future?

Because it meets the basic needs of connectivity in close range, Bluetooth has a very bright future ahead of it. Bluetooth is actually the result of initiatives from nine leading communications and computer industry giants, including 3-COM, Sony,Lucent, IBM, Nokia, Microsoft, etc.

Since the forming of the original group, more than 1,800 manufacturers around the world have joined the initiative. According to reports, the Bluetooth technology is expected to be built into more than 100 million devices, with over 670 million enabled Bluetooth devices.

Resulting from the amazing success of WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), the adoption of smart phones and hand held devices, Bluetooth can easily have an amazing impact on your day to day life. Bluetooth is one of the key technologies that can help to make the mobile information society happen, by blurring the possibilities between home, the office, and the outside world.

The seamless integration and connectivity that Bluetooth promises will make it possible to explore a wide range of interactive and highly transparent personalized services which were actually quite difficult to dream of simply because of the complexity involved with making such devices communicate with each other.

Many Bluetooth pilot products have already been rolled into the market and backed by big vendors, which is a healthy sign for the overall acceptance of the technology. The support for Bluetooth isn't limited to companies that develop only Bluetooth enabled products.

The applications for Bluetooth can have great impacts on other industries as well. The adoption of Bluetooth technology is expected to spread throughout the industry of computers.

Unlike infrared technology, Bluetooth is used by many different wireless devices. Bluetooth offers exceptional quality for short range wireless, even going through walls and obstructions. While infrared is the biggest competitor at this time, Bluetooth far surpasses it, proving to millions that it is the wireless communication technology of the present day and age.

In the beginning, Bluetooth started with version 1.0, then gradually moved from there. The current version is 2.0+EDR, with another version currently in development. The technology behind the Bluetooth specification always getting better and better, which is why it's so popular.

In the future, you can expect the technology behind Bluetooth to get better. Bluetooth has proven to be the wireless standard of the future, offering you wireless connectability for hundreds of different devices. For cell phones or other forms of wireless connections, Bluetooth is the one technology that you don't want to find yourself

Top Five Tips for College Freshmen and Sophmores

1. Let Your Major Pick You

A lot of college students ask me what majors will look best on paper when it comes time to apply for a job or to graduate school. At this point in your college education, you really have no business committing to a career yet. You should be exploring different classes, different internships and part-time jobs, different activities, different professors. Take a wide variety of classes, even if variety is not mandated by your schools graduation requirements, and youll figure out pretty quickly which ones youre passionate about.

2. Follow the Professors

Find out who the best teachers are and load up on those classes. The best teachers could lecture every day on the history of Brazilian trade unions and youd still be fascinated and learn how to think. A site like RateMyProfessors.com has its limitations, but its just one more resource to help you find the best ones. (And if you want to see that shoe on the other foot, check out RateYourStudents.Blogspot.com.) Start cultivating relationships with your professors be engaged in class and talk to them during office hours. Dont be afraid to ask for help. Aside from the academic benefits, youll need them for graduate school recommendations in just a few years, and sometimes they have industry contacts as well.

3. Do Your Own Career Research?

Many professors and college administrators (including folks at the career center) havent spent much time outside of academia, so dont treat them as your only resources as you explore careers and line up internships or other job opportunities. Make every summer in college a strategic part of your post-graduation career planning many employers make permanent offers to their summer interns.

4. Be Smart About Your Financial Future?

Most people borrow for college, and for every dollar you spend now, youll be paying up to two in the future, depending on how long it takes you to pay back your loans. Check out financial planning calculators -- FinAid.org has good ones -- to figure out how much money you need to be making after graduation to make your monthly loan payments. Save your credit cards for emergencies, and dont fall for those seductive credit card pitches on campus. Get in the habit of tracking your spending (check out Moneypants.com) its a habit that will serve you well for the rest of your life.

5. If You Lose Your Bearings, Take a Breather

Sometimes life gets in the way of our best intentions. You wont be able to go back and do college over again, so make sure you can give school your undivided attention while youre there. If external circumstances make that impossible (a recurring or serious illness, serious family difficulties, needing to work more than 20 hours per week), explore taking a semester or even a year off to get a handle on whatever that problem is. Most students in these situations try to push through the crisis, and their transcripts end up looking like train wrecks. Theyll have to explain and make excuses for their grades for a long time to come. Youre much better off showing people a transcript with great grades and having to explain why you needed to take time out in the middle.

Are Online Ads Worth Your Buck?

Whenever you are surfing the internet looking for information you will see a plethora of online advertising offering virtually every conceivable product or service under the sun. As more people hit the information highway, often shunning traditional information sources such as print, television and radio, advertisers are also making the switch. Online advertising can a cost-effective method of reaching web surfers and getting their message in front of a different audience.

One of the biggest advantages of online ads is also one of the biggest disadvantages. Online ads can reach a wider audience and if you have a global internet business can expand the boundaries of your customer base. In most cases you have the ability to determine the types of sites on which your online ads will appear, but in many instances once you place the ad, especially if going through an online ad agency, your site could end up on sites that are inconsistent with you beliefs.

If your business is strictly locally based, with print, television or radio advertising you can restrict the geographic locations where the ads will be heard or seen. For many local-only businesses this type of target advertising reaches only those are likely to be interested in your business and be reasonably expected to visit in person. It all depends on whether you want your advertising effort to have a shotgun effect or a rifle shot.

While a shotgun approach can reach more people in the least amount of time in a much wider area, it will also have many of the ads whiz out into cyberspace with no contact with potential customers. With the rifle approach you can aim your advertising at a specific customer base and even with a potentially higher cost can often realize a better return on the advertising dollar.

When considering online advertising you have to look at the potential return to determine if they are worth your investment. With internet advertising, as will many other forms, it is a numbers game. If you anticipate that 10 percent of those who see the ad will respond and ten percent of those respondents will result in a sale, you should consider that 10,000 advertisement in print media would see 1,000 respondents resulting in 100 sales.

With online ads, your advertisement may reach a million viewers, resulting in 100,000 respondents and 10,000 sales. Weighing these purely hypothetical numbers would seem to make online advertising a good investment. However, depending on the placement of online ads, such as on sites that customers for your products or service rarely if ever visit, the number of respondents may be considerably lower, reducing the potential return on your online ad investment.

If you have an online business, it may pay to advertise where your customers are looking. If your business is completely offline, advertising online may simply make the business with which you advertise the recipient of any income.

New Color Innovations in Coneflowers Ready for 2007

The inveterate gardener enjoys the planning as much as the blooms--poring over seed catalogues; determining where the perfect spot for that new variety of flower is; the excitement of receiving the seeds or plants and deciding to take time off from work, or shopping or even such important chores as walking the dog and vacuuming the carpet. All these are set aside to enjoy the thrill of dirt under the fingernails.

For those of you who are aficionados of native American wildflowers, you may want to consider an old favorite which has become even more popular because of new varieties recently developed.

The Echinacea or Coneflower in its purple or white guise is well-adapted to semi-drought conditions due to its long taproot but can handle moist soil as well. It prefers a sandy loam, and will tolerate being moved, although care must be taken to avoid too much upset of the root system. The Coneflower loves full sun, and spring planting of the Coneflower seeds will result in beautiful blooms of purple or white in the fall season.

This is a plant which is not content to hover close to the ground. It proudly waves its spiny central cone at a 3 to 5 foot height. The name Echinacea comes from the Greek echinos which means hedgehog.

Exciting new colors are available in spring 2007. In addition to the traditional purple or white flowers, creamy gold, eye-popping mango and pale orange are high on the avid gardeners shopping list. Flowers with names like Sunset, Sunrise, Twilight, Harvest Moon and Sundown are just a few of the new colors. Echinacea flowers are sweetly fragrant to add enjoyment through another sense beside visual to your garden beds.

Another exciting Coneflower to consider for traffic-stopping impact in your garden is the Doubledecker. This little bloom reminds one of a flamenco dancer. The upper bloom in brilliant fuschia shading to pink sits atop the waist of the cone with the skirt formed of the traditional down curling petals in the same shades.

Now is the time to search out these lovely specimens at Always Green Nursery. Our friendly staff is always willing and able to help you choose the best plants for your location.

The Time of Transition

It is the time of new beginnings. The time that has been ordained since the beginning of time in which Gods holy love would make itself felt everywhere as a stirring within the human heart to go deeper within itself, to find the source of love and the source of peace within. It is the time of the birth of the soul within human consciousness, a birth that will create out of the ordinary what shall become a sacred humanity.

This time has been foretold from the beginning, bringing with it a transition into a new consciousness that has not been possible before - a collective awakening brought about by the advent of greater light. This light brings to each soul a sacred knowledge of its oneness with God and with every other soul. Thus, does the age of separation come to an end and a new era begin in which love can be given greater importance and the life of the soul come into full flowering. It is not here in its fullness yet, but its beginnings can be felt as the hunger for truth, for love, and for spiritual knowledge produced by the quickening of light within body, mind and emotions. And though forces of darkness are still present on both a global and personal level, the quickening of human consciousness still moves forward and cannot be prevented.

Each soul here today has chosen to be here, has chosen to participate in this profound transition that will affect every life on earth. Each soul, in its deepest heart, knows of the change that is coming and that is already present. For the signs of it, though invisible for the most part to outer eyes, can be felt as an inner vibration, an inner current of truth and of knowledge, and, indeed, as an inner calling.

The collective Whole of which each soul is a part is the bearer of light for the creation of a sacred humanity, and each soul that chooses to deliberately align with light contributes to that greater Whole, just as each one who turns away from it detracts from it. We are all one, and in that oneness there is no life that is truly apart, even though some may choose the path of separation. Therefore, be glad, for the light that arises will bring humanity to a consciousness of oneness with all of life, and the earth into a new state of being as a sacred and holy planet.

World Blessings.net is an online spiritual gathering place for people of all faiths, dedicated to the unity of souls and the creation of a sacred earth. Doodlebops: IXS

Be Ready for getting on the Bus with the Doodlebops, kids' newest music sensation with tons of talent, loads of enthusiasm, and endless energy. If theres a preschooler in your life, you know the Doodlebops, the bubblegum Canadian rockers who star in their own show on Playhouse Disney. As the made-for-TV siblings, played by the bizarrely costumed, brightly colored Lisa Lennox (Deedee), Jonathan Wexler (Moe, who has an obsession with pulling on a suspended rope), and Chad McNamara (Rooney), embark on their first American tour (coming to the Garden on September 30 and October 1)

It is a golden opportunity to join them as they perform their hit songs from their popular TV show on Playhouse Disney in their first ever live U.S. concert tour. Kids will be out of their seats, on their feet with joy as they sing and dance along to their favorite songs from their favorite bandmates; Deedee, Rooney and Moe Doodle. This candy-colored trio is sure to deliver an interactive and unforgettable experience that will be a treat for the whole family.

The World reknowned Disney (http://www.ixs.net/concert-tickets/Children-Family/Disney-Live/index.aspx ) Channel has been hosting a wonderful show, called The Doodelbops, in their Playhouse Disney lineup each Monday through Friday. It has become very much popular in USA and Canada as the Doodlebops have achieved tremendous success in entertaining the preschooler by providing a mix of singing and dancing, rhyming and jokes and even a daily lesson. The Doodlebops are full of color, using face paint and wigs, but they are definitely the hot group in the preschooler set right now! Much like the Wiggles, they have taken over many households temporarily. Having opportunity of entertained by the Doodelhops, It is the guarantee that their Theme song will be on your lips all day long.

The Doodlebops is a musical comedy series for children starring Deedee, Rooney and Moe Doodle. They are the ultimate rock and roll band - at least as far as preschoolers are concerned - and they hang out and practice their song and dance routines in the coolest rehearsal space imaginable. Sort of a cross between PeeWee's Playhouse and The Monkees, the show focuses on music, dance, comedy and pro-social educational issues such as sharing and perspective taking. When The Doodlebops aren't rehearsing, they're zooming off in their tour bus to perform for kids everywhere!

In addition to the lovely colors, the Doodlebops make beautiful music. Each song has a simple lesson, and most are very memorable with catchy tunes. Your child will fall in love. As a parent, you may enjoy listening more than watching, because of the wild dress code the Doodlebops have. Whatever you decide to do, seeing the show once is something every parent needs to experience with his or her child!

Here are some of the lovely and wonderful songs of the Doodlebobs :-

a) Song : I can Dance Sung by Moe

Moe is hiding under a cmbal near his drum set. Rooney has a new invention. Moe is interested in knowing what it is, but they won't tell him because it's a surprise.Jazzmine enters and tells Moe to be himself and wait until the concert. He is unique and should stay that way.

While Rooney and DeeDee go to get juice, Moe cheats and looks at Rooney's invention - a drum machine. Then Moe worries that they are going to replace him. They go to the recording studio and Moe is still very worried. In the studio, Audio Murphy records their new video for 'I Can Dance'.

When the video is done, Bus Driver Bob picks them up. The bus became a stage for the Doodlebops before they took off for the concert, flying high under rocket power. Moe is still very worried.

At the concert hall they finally unveil the surprise. Moe admits he thought they were going to replace him. DeeDee and Rooney are quick to tell Moe that the Mighty Moe Machine was built to help him, so he can dance to his song without having to play the drums.

The following joke was included in this song.

Knock Knock
Who's There?
Luke
Luke who?
Luke out!

At the end, The Doddlebop completed their song with a Lesson that Everyone can use a little help once in a while to make them better. Today, Moe got help from the Mighty Moe Machine.

b) Wobbly Whoopsy is the another lovely amusing song of the Doodlebop.

Today is DeeDee's birthday. Rooney and Moe pretend they forgot, but blindfold DeeDee and decorate the room. For her birthday DeeDee wrote a new song and dance, called Wobbly Whoopsy. She wants Rooney and Moe to dance wearing tutus during the concert. They say no, because it is way to girly.

Rooney bakes a birthday cake; Moe causes him to step on it. This is very frequent this episode, as several cakes are ruined, and several gifts from Rooney are also ruined.

Bus Driver Bob gives DeeDee a small version of the bus, called the Doodlebop Express. At the concert hall,Mazz gives DeeDee a red necklace. Rooney and Moe still have nothing for DeeDee, not even a card.

They decide to give DeeDee a special gift. They will wear the tutus and do her new song and dance.

This Song also contained the following joke.

Knock-Knock
Who's there?
Snow
Snow who?
Snow body but me!

Finally, the Song has a very inspiring lesson , The cost of a gift does not matter; just give from your heart .

3) The Song, Your Not Alone is also wonderful and praiseworthy.

Today Mazz lets Moe know that he will have a solo in today's concert. Moe is very worried about this, and doesn't want to have a solo. He goes into a trance he is so scared, and Rooney and DeeDee actually put him under the rope and for the first time, they tell him to pull it. He does. Then he confesses he is afraid of messing up during his solo.

DeeDee and Rooney spend the afternoon convincing Moe he will do fine, and they will be there to support him.

The following amusing joke can be found in the song.

Knock-Knock
Who's there?
Tank
Tank who?
You're welcome!

Child Tax Credit - Are You Eligible and How Much Can You Claim

Child Tax Credit - Are You Eligible And How Much Can You Claim?

In our hectic world today, raising kids can be difficult, particularly when funds are tight. Children are always going to need something, whether it be new clothes or supplies for a school project. Figuring out how to find the money can sometimes be just about impossible. However, there are government benefits that are available to struggling and low income households that may help to lessen the burden in situations like these.

One of these benefits is the Child Tax Credit, which was created and intended to lend a helping hand to families and caregivers of school age children and college students to ensure that the children can get the things they need. This will be especially helpful to low income parents who have children younger than 16 or a young person attending school full time.

This particular Tax Credit is based upon the number of children in your home and also takes into account the total household earnings. As well as getting an overall tax credit for the family, you also can claim a specific amount ofchild benefit for every child who lives in your home. You don't need to be related to the child or children, but you must be the primary caregiver and the children have to reside in your house.

Claiming the Child Tax Credit is extremely simple. When you apply initially, you will have to order a claim pack. You will also need to give proof of your identity, which can be as easy as providing your national insurance number. Once you're approved, your Child Tax Credit can be renewed by mail or telephone. This is done each year and you'll be notified when it's time for you to renew. It's important for you to report any changes in your situation such as even the slightest changes in family size and earnings. If you fail to report changes, you might wind up having to pay back the tax credits that you've received.

You can receive Child Tax Credits in numerous ways. You can have the child allowance paid on a weekly or monthly basis, and it can be transferred into any bank account you indicate. Children's Tax Credits needs to be transferred to the main caretaker's account and can be received by cheque, which will be sent to the address indicated on your application. The child benefit can be claimed additionally with the Working Tax Credit, a government benefit if either you or your partner are working.

If you don't get approved these benefit entitlements, or disagree with your tax credit calculation, you have to right to appeal a tax credit decision. This must be done within 30 days of your denial notification.

Affiliate Programs How to Use Commission Junction

The affiliate program is probably the best return for your effort with the least demand on your time. This has an appeal to the Boomer Entrepreneur since we want to run the business and not have it run us. We want to have time to kick back and smell the roses.

The attraction to this model is that it is virtually risk free except for your time. It costs you nothing to sign up as an affiliate. You recommend the product and send your visitors to the website where the product is sold and if the customer purchases the product, you are paid a commission. Amazon.com is credited with being the first businesses on the Net to fully develop the affiliate concept and now all the major companies have affiliate programs.

When you sign up as an affiliate, you will be given an affiliate number, and a special link to use for linking to the affiliate website. This link will send your visitor to the business site and at the same time tell the business that you sent the visitor so you will receive the commission in the case of a sale.

There are companies that do the accounting and act as the coordinator between affiliates and the companies they represent. These are called affiliate program providers (APPs). One of the major sites for handling affiliate accounting is called Commission Junction. It handles eBay and others. The major site for electronic products is ClickBank. Other sites are BeFree, Linkshare, and Performics. A German APP is Affili.net.

Commission Junction is the largest APP and handles many great companies. To fully explore what is available, you need to sign up at CJ and look for affiliates there. You will be able to see who the companies are and the commission structure of each. You can then join the program right in CJ without having to go to each company and apply.

I suggest that you join CJ and study the many companies that are represented. Take note of a few that you feel might be ones that you would like to represent. Dont join the affiliate program yet, but go to Google and research the company website. See if they sell themselves well and will support the sales effort that you are going to expend to sell their products or services. Also, from CJ, you can link to the landing page in the company website. Go there and check it out to see if it sells well.

Step by Step Start

The following will lead you through the sign up process as a Commission Junction publisher. This process is longer than most that you have previously completed. Be prepared to complete two pages of information. The second page is long and detailed.

First page: Select your language, country, and currency. Click NEXT.

Second page: After swearing to abide by the rules and regs, you will be asked for information about your newsletter or website (URL). If you have a website, you can enter it. If not, make up a name for the eZine that you may plan to publish. For this application, you must make up a newsletter name if you do not have a website (URL). Be creative!

You will then be asked about your promotional methods. Click the Website/Content and Search Engine Marketing buttons. Next click NO on the radio button that asks if you donate any proceeds to charity (unless you want to do so).

Next you will be asked to enter all the information needed for setting up your account. You might have to attempt this page a couple of times since you might not have all the info you might need the first time. A key item you will need is social security number or tax ID if you are registering as a business. If you want to have your payments direct deposited, get a blank check so you will have the info to set up the banking information.

When you finish giving CJ your entire pedigree, click Accept Terms and you are on your way. Check your Inbox for an email from CJ with your acceptance message and password.

Sign up for Commission Junction at

https://signup.cj.com/member/publisherSignUp.do

Once you have received your acceptance email from Commission Junction, log in to www.cj.com and use your password to enter. When you are logged in, you will be on your Commission Junction Home Page. It shows your account status and basic accounting info. It also shows the new advertisers on CJ. You might see if any of these look appealing since you can jump right on them and get a head start.

Near the top of the page click on Account. This is where you can update the information that you entered on your application.

Now down to business. Click on the Get Links tab near the top and you will be presented the page where you can find advertisers. There are several ways to view it: By category, by advertiser name, by Smart Zone, and by relationship which will list all the accounts with which you have an established relationship.

As an example, to find a company with which you are familiar (eBay), select the Category view and in the left column under Commerce, click Auctions. The page that is presented will contain various auction sites, but you will recognize most of them as the various eBay sites for the USA and other countries.

To join an affiliate, click on the View Links in the box with the affiliate name. You will be presented with the various banner ads and links for the affiliate. Pick one and click on it. If you are not a member of the affiliate program, you will be presented a page describing the program and at the bottom of the page is a button Join Program. Click this and see the response. Sometimes you will be accepted immediately and sometimes you will get a message that you will be notified after your application has been reviewed. Go ahead and join eBay USA since you should be accepted immediately by it.

The sequence of Get Links and Join Program is how you sign up for the affiliate programs that you want to represent. It is all in Commission Junction and it makes it very easy for you to grow an affiliate program as your online job.

Note: Some affiliates require that you have a website when you sign up with them. You can build a website later and reapply if this affiliate program is one you want to pursue as an online job.

A word of caution: Becoming an affiliate does not automatically make you rich. Becoming an affiliate establishes the relationship to let you promote a product and get paid for successful promotion. It is up to you to do the work of driving traffic to the affiliate site. If you do your job well, a percentage of the traffic will purchase from the site and you will be paid a commission for those purchases.

This concludes your education about Commission Junction. It is a powerful website and is a must join if you are going to create an affiliate program.

Good luck with your future affiliate programs.

Great Technical Writing: User Document Headings Should Be Guideposts, Not Advertisements

OVERVIEW

Most heading are designed to entice us to read further. Headings in User Documents should enable your Reader to decide whether or not to continue reading that section. Use effective headings to make it easy for your Reader to access and understand your User Document.

MOST HEADINGS ARE FOCUSED ON GETTING THE READER TO READ MORE

Usually, these headings provide just enough information or use clever wording to tease the Reader to continue. Many User Document authors incorrectly do the same. Users do not want to read the User Manual, and they should only be encouraged to read text if it is of relevance to them. They should not be teased into reading irrelevant material.

Here are some examples of teaser-type headings:

* "TIP:"

The Reader does not know if the tip is relevant or not, and thus is forced to read the text to make a decision.

* "Headings Can Discourage Reading"

A teaser if ever there was one. Since it implies a contradiction, its goal is to get the Reader to read. If it's not important for every Reader to read this information, then you have misled your Readers.

Rather than tease, headings should:

* Enable your Reader to decide whether or not to read the text, or

* Provide enough information so that your Reader can skip the text

HEADINGS SHOULD HELP YOUR READER TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO READ ON

A good heading provides the information that your Reader needs to decide whether or not to read the text that follows it. It should not use any clever wording to entice the Reader to read unnecessary material.

Let's improve on the previous "teaser" examples:

* "TIP: USE WORD PROCESSOR STYLES"

Your Reader will skip this if he/she is already using styles to format their word processor documents.

* "Headings Can Provide Enough Information to Discourage Reading"

If your Reader understands what this means, then he/she can skip the material.

HEADINGS CAN PROVIDE ENOUGH INFORMATION TO DISCOURAGE READING

A good example is the step-by-step instruction. Headings should be part of any series of (step-by-step) instructions. Each heading tells the Reader what he/she will be doing in the following instruction steps. The Reader can decide to read or skip the text, based on the heading and his/her capabilities. For example:

Delete the CONFIG.STP File by Following These Steps:

1. ...

2. ...

3. ... etc

A Reader who knows how to find and delete the CONFIG.STP file can use the information in the heading alone to perform the desired task. A Reader who doesn't know how to perform the deletion will follow the more detailed steps.

In this situation, the heading helps the Reader self-select based on his/her skills.

DESCRIPTIVE HEADINGS PROVIDE GOOD ACCESS TO THE TEXT

Descriptive headings (that accurately describe the text that follows) enable your Readers to find desired information on the page. When skimming a page, Readers focus on the headings. It is much easier to browse headings than to browse text.

SOME USEFUL HEADING GUIDELINES

--- Don't Mix Information Between Headings

All of the information that follows a heading -- until the next heading -- should relate to the heading that introduces the text. Don't add information irrelevant to the heading in the text following that heading. Doing so makes it harder for your Reader to find material in your User Document, and confuses your Reader when reading the text ("why is this here?").

If necessary, add additional headings.

--- Consider Using More Headings in Your Writing

By having more headings, you reap the following benefits:

* There will be more "white space" in your document. These blank areas make your writing more inviting and easier to read.

* You provide more guideposts to the information. These additional guideposts make topics easier to find in your writing, and sets the tone for the text to follow.

--- Headings Should Stand Out from the Text

Make headings larger, bolder, set off from the plain text in the document. This will enable your Reader to easily find and use the headings. If you have no control over the font of the headings, put them in all capital letters.

--- Denote Headings with Your Word Processor's "Styles".

Use your word processor "styles" or equivalent to denote headings. The alternative is to manually format the headings to make them stand out.

By using "styles," all headings of a particular level will look the same; you can easily change appearance of all of the headings at once, and you can easily create Tables of Contents.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Users do not want to read User Documentation. By using headings that help your Reader to decide whether or not to read the text that follows, you make his/her reading experience more effective.

Headings are a powerful access mechanism for any kind of writing -- don't squander this power.

Home Schooling Information You Dont Hear About

For many of us who dont particularly like the public school system, we think that home schooling may be the perfect answer. You can teach your child the things you want him to know in a one on one environment, and you will be there to ensure he knows the material completely before moving on to the next subject. You will assign his homework, and grade it to be certain he thoroughly understands and remembers what you are teaching him in class. You dont have to worry about him being exposed to illnesses and bad attitudes that often run amok in public and private schools alike. Considering all of these reasons why would you even think about not home schooling your child?

The previous information about home schooling is what is so often published to try to sway you to home school your children, but are they being up front and honest, telling you everything that you need to know? Of course, many of you already know that the answer to that question is no. You need to be aware of the bad things that come along with home schooling, so that you can make the best decision for both you and your child.

You need to remember that your childs academic success or failure will weigh solely on your shoulders, so if you slip, if you dont assign homework, or if you dont make him do his homework, or settle down long enough to learn, then you are to blame. You have to be certain that your child stays on the same academic level as his peers, and if he isnt do whatever it takes to get and keep him there.

One of the good and possibly bad parts of home schooling is that you get to spend almost all of your time together with your children. This is good in that you develop a closer relationship, and you know what is going on, without having to rely on someone else to nurture and teach your child. The bad part of this is that when your child is having a bad day, or you are having a bad day, you cant take him to school, go somewhere and relax, and then pick him up later. You have to deal with the tantrums and bad behavior all on your own, so you need to make sure that you have enough patience to do so.

You also need to remember that teaching your child will become your full time job. Your husband will become the sole source of your familys income, and you will have to learn how to cut corners to stretch your budget as far as possible. If you cant live on that budget, or if it will cause undue stress and strain on your marriage, then home schooling may not be the best route to take at this time.

You cant be a pushover for your child; you have to make him do his lessons and his homework, no matter how much he tries to convince you otherwise. No one loves your child like his parents, but you have to be strong enough to make him do the things that are best for him, even if he doesnt realize it at the time.
